A Scenic Cycling Adventure

Look no further than the newly established Tralee to Fenit Greenway, a picturesque cycling route that promises breathtaking scenery and unforgettable moments. Whether you’re a cycling enthusiast, a family looking for adventure or a nature lover, this Greenway is a must-visit destination for all ages.
The adventure begins in the heart of Tralee town, just opposite Tralee’s Casement Train Station, where you’ll find the starting point of the Greenway. But before you embark on your cycling journey, make sure to fuel up with a delicious breakfast at Yummy Cafe on Dominick Street – and don’t forget to inquire about having a packed lunch made up for your journey! Just bring along your rucksack and we’ll happily prepare a scrumptious packed lunch for you to enjoy during your Greenway adventure.
Once you’re ready to hit the trail, follow the route (Yummy Café to Casement Starting Point) or (Yummy Café to Rock Street Access Point) as it takes you from Tralee town center, north-westerly towards Mounthawk. As you pedal along, take in the captivating sights of the lush surroundings and immerse yourself in the beauty of County Kerry’s countryside. The Greenway then turns west, running parallel with the R558, passing through the charming village of the Spa and the picturesque townland of Kilfenora.
As you continue your journey, you’ll be treated to stunning views of the Wild Atlantic Way and the iconic Fenit Lighthouse in the distance. The trail leads you to the tranquil Fenit Pier, your ultimate destination. Here, you can park your bike and explore the area at your leisure. Take a leisurely walk along the beautiful beach, soak up the sun, and breathe in the refreshing sea breeze.
While at Fenit, don’t miss the opportunity to visit the historic beehive huts and the monument dedicated to Brendan the Navigator. These landmarks offer fascinating insights into the region’s rich history and cultural heritage. If you’re up for a dip in the ocean, the beach near Fenit Pier provides the perfect spot for a refreshing swim (lifeguards on duty during the Summer).
After your exploration, make your way back to the pier and indulge in a delightful, packed lunch prepared especially for you by Yummy Café, which will replenish your energy for the return journey.
As you pedal back to Tralee, take a moment to appreciate the natural beauty that surrounds you. Enjoy the peacefulness of the Greenway, the sound of nature, and the scenic views of Tralee Bay.
